Notre Dame, IN – After a 3 year hiatus, the Parseghian Cup returns to South Bend, Indiana! We are thrilled to announce that we will host the University of Michigan at the 2022 Parseghain Cup on Friday, September 16th! The match will mark the 7th Annual Parseghian Cup, which was last played in October 2018, a 26-12 victory for the Fighting Irish. But more importantly, the Parseghian Cup brings the community together in support of the Ara ParseghiaMedical Research Fund (APMRF), to fight against the rare disease, Niemann-Pick Type C.

With active research ongoing at the University of Michigan to find a cure for Niemann-Pick Type C, the Wolverines are a perfect partner for the Parseghian Cup. “Michigan Rugby is grateful for the opportunity to help promote the mission of the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Fund. It’s always a privilege playing our sport, and knowing we’re playing for something greater than ourselves this fall provides a special significance. We look forward to partnering with Notre Dame Rugby to support this incredible cause." Matt Trenary, Head Coach University of Michigan Rugby. "The history between the two programs, and having two R-1 institutions work together on and off the field of competition, makes this partnership a great fit. At Notre Dame, everything that we do is about serving the greater mission of the University, and the Parseghian Cup is a perfect annual reminder of this, to our student-athletes.", Justin Hickey, Head Coach University of Notre Dame Rugby.

Join us for an incredible evening as the Notre Dames Men's Rugby team take on the Michigan Wolverines at Stinson Rugby Field on the campus of Notre Dame. Following the Match there will be a fundraising reception and dinner to benefit APMRF.

In 2018, the match and event raised over $75,000 going directly to APMRF for research, which is the most the Parseghian Cup has raised to date. In its 6 years, the Parseghian Cup has raised over $175,000 for APMRF.
